Ansley & Nathan | Enchanting Blue & Grey Winter Catholic Wedding in Lilburn, Georgia

Ansley and Nathan had a beautiful and enchanting March wedding at St. John Neumann Catholic Church with a fun reception at Vecoma at the Yellow River last weekend! It was a tearful, romantic day, sprinkled with blue colors, dear friends, and people who loved this sweet couple very deeply.

They celebrated their wedding at the church where Nathan joined the Catholic Church recently! Ansley is a DIY organization queen (no seriously, she made a 19 page document of details for everyone involved with the wedding) and DIY’ed many of the wedding day elements! She embroidered the pocket squares, created all the stationery, made the bags for the bridesmaids’ gifts, and more. The couple’s goal was the day to be as much like them as possible and to be beautiful while still being simple, which I think they accomplished beautifully. The morning ran so smoothly, and the prayer moment that Nathan and Ansley shared was very touching. Their wedding Mass was celebrated by a priest and the deacon who knew the two of them very well. Ansley wore a beautiful pearl veil crown that was a family heirloom. After the Mass, Ansley & Nathan opted to have their family photos outside the church which was a BEAUTIFUL decision!! I’m all for altar family photos, but you can’t beat the pretty natural light available outside over the often orange light indoors.

Their wedding reception at Vecoma at the Yellow River was a blast. Navy and gold accented the room, and a bright blue cocktail was a hit with the guests. The grounds of Vecoma were beautiful for wedding party and couple’s portraits, despite it not being very green outside yet. Check out our little “Love Story” moment with Ansley’s gorgeous dress!

During the speeches, Ansley honored her mom by dedicating the bridal bouquet to her, which was a tender and tearful moment. A friend of the couple’s stood in as the DJ and I was pretty impressed at how well he did even though it was his first time. Their guests knew how to party and dance too! After a private last dance and an exit with fiber optic ribbon wands wands (a super cool alternative to sparklers!), Ansley and Nathan made their getaway. I am so grateful for the awesome couples that trust me with their wedding photos and precious memories. Congrats Ansley and Nathan!!

P.S. Ansley shared this prayer with me that she and Nathan prayed during their engagement, and I think it’s beautiful!

Heavenly Father, as we prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage, we seek your blessing.

We thank you for bringing us together and guiding us this far. Open out hearts to know more fully your desire for us and guide those who are forming us.

May we look to Christ as a model for our love, cherishing, and respecting each out as He taught us.

And may your Holy Spirit lead us to deeper intimacy with you and each other that we might approach our wedding day with confidence and grace.

Amen.
