Kyser & Stephanie are two beautiful souls who love cats and joking around together - my favorite type of people. I know, I know, everyone thinks dogs rule, but they're a little much for me. Anyone who loves cats more is automatically going to be my friend.

Kyser works at the University of Georgia as an Assistant Professor in the Journalism department (my old school), and when they reached out to me to photograph their micro wedding at the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia, I was very excited for so many reasons! I love Athens and the botanical gardens, so any chance to travel out there and photograph people who are in love is a dream. I'm also honored when other photographers ask me to document their wedding days, it's the ultimate compliment.

The weather was absolutely perfect for this late April wedding, and it was a beautiful, low-key day, just like these two. They kept the guest list small, with just two of Stephanie's best friends and Kyser's parents. Stephanie wore an elegant dress from David's Bridal and Stephanie's lifelong friends Deidra and BJ did all the floral arrangements (which they got stems for from Trader Joe's!). From the Rifle Paper Co. kitten bowties to Kyser's customized wedding socks featuring Stephanie's late cat, every detail was intentional and sweet. As far as my favorite part of the day, it's a three way tie between their tree planting ceremony, the reaction of the next door neighbor kids to seeing Stephanie in her wedding dress, and the fun we had during their couple's portraits in the garden. A big thank you to Kyser & Stephanie for trusting me to capture these memories for you!
