It's not every day that I drive out to Tuscaloosa for an engagement session! Blake and Madison were some of the most joyful people during this entire session and their love for each other made my heart melt. They met while they were both students at the University of Alabama, and became fast friends through their shared love of good jokes, good music, and the good Lord. Over the years, Blake and Madi got to know each other more through mutual friends and their involvement with St. Francis of Assisi (the Catholic Center at UA). Their friendship eventually blossomed into something more, and on August 1, 2019 Blake and Madison had their first date. Two years later, Blake recreated their first date in order to ask Madison to be his wife. They went to brunch at Another Broken Egg at the Riverwalk in Tuscaloosa and, after a nervous meal, Blake suggested they go back to the church and pray together. Unsuspecting Madison was taken by complete surprise when Blake asked her to stand with him in front of the altar steps and then got down on his knee and proposed!

I used their proposal story for inspiration when we planned their engagement session. We took some photos at the Catholic Center where they fell in love (and a few ofc in the adoration chapel). I love having couples take a few moments during their engagement session to pray with/for each other. After dancing around campus, we popped by THE Another Broken Egg for a quick photo and then snuck out onto the riverside dock for some photos. Champagne, laughter, and a good time was had by all! Madi rocked her dresses from Baltic Born, one of my favorite stores for women to get photo outfits from.

Their July wedding at the Tuscaloosa River Market is coming soon to the blog, so stay tuned!!
