Christina and Shawn's beautiful October wedding at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Woodstock, GA was such a sweet, emotional day! These two met in 2020, but didn't start actually dating until 2021. Christina knew almost immediately that she had feelings for Shawn, but it took him awhile to build up the courage to ask her on a date. A year and some change after their first date, they got engaged. They entered into the Sacrament of Marriage in the parish where Christina grew up (and where her and I met and became friends in high school!)

All they wanted for their wedding day was for it to be filled with love, joy and excitement for their future lives together - boy did it fulfill their hopes! Christina was so filled with peace and joy when I arrived in the morning, with no nerves whatsoever. She is a crafty gal and DIY'd almost every decoration at their wedding reception in St. Michael's parish hall. Their decor was romantically boho inspired, with terracotta and fall colors, soft red terracotta table runners, feathery touches in the florals, and gold accents. Christina's gorgeous wedding dress from Anna Christine Bridal looked like it was straight out of a boho styled shoot with its beautiful lace detailing and full layered tulle skirt! Their florals were actually artificial and sourced from Ling's Moment, which photographed beautifully. Shawn and Christina prayed together in the adoration chapel before Mass, an event which Shawn tearfully repeated how much he loved his bride to be, leaving us all crying a bit behind our cameras. Shawn gifted his groomsmen rosaries and they prayed together prior to the Mass. The wedding Mass itself was beautiful. Christina walked down the aisle hand in hand with her mother to a very emotional Shawn - there were very few dry eyes in the church. Christina's father passed away a few years ago, and she honored him by reserving a pew in the church for him.

The parish hall was incredibly convenient for this lunchtime wedding, since it was right across the hall from the church sanctuary - no travel needed! The couple had a giant charcuterie display from The Gathering Board as their reception food of choice, and, let me tell you, it was incredible and tasty! Their guest book was a cute postcard display, featuring images from our Max Patch engagement session. It's always so cool to see the unique ways couples use their engagement photos! Christina and Shawn opted to spend their reception visiting with their family and friends, and still managed to sneak in a few dances on the dance floor orchestrated by DJ Dave. Their reception wrapped up with a private last dance and a ribbon wand exit out the church doors into Christina's late father's truck. We however snuck over to the church prayer garden afterwards for their wedding party and couple's portraits. The weather was gorgeous, the joy contagious, and Christina spent a moment with the brick in the garden dedicated to her late father, Chris. After a leisurely time taking pictures, we wrapped up and they headed home - all before 5pm! I am so grateful for the awesome couples that trust me with their wedding photos and precious memories. Congrats Christina and Shawn, enjoy your honeymoon!
