Carlyn and Matthew's love story began through Catholic Twitter of all places. They had mutual friends, so they knew that the other person wasn't just some random off the internet, and when they finally met in person, Matthew knew he wanted to take Carlyn on a date. She waited to say yes until she'd finished her nursing license and the rest was history. Matthew proposed at Christmas, handing Carlyn a card that informed her that her gift was a set of concert tickets and a photography session. Carlyn was confused and looked up for an explanation when she saw Matthew down on one knee with a ring in his hand!

For their engagement session, we met at the Roswell Mill, close to where Matthew and Carlyn will have their wedding reception in December. Carlyn grew up in the Roswell area, and it was fun to reminisce about old memories she had there! They were brave enough to get up at dawn with me, and the morning light did not disappoint one bit - that morning glow looked incredible! Matthew and Carlyn reminded me of peanut butter and jelly: they have a deep compatibility and being around them as a couple feels so easy and natural. We wanted to scramble out onto Vickery Creek Falls during our session, but there was a lot of construction going on and the area was blocked off - bummer.

We wrapped up their session on Canton Street in Roswell, GA, walking down the street and stopping at Naylor Hall for a moment. We even snuck in a few photos at the cute Crazy Love Coffee, a tribute to this pair's "deep affection" for coffee ;).

As a wedding photographer, I love getting to know my couples through engagement sessions, and this one was no exception! Carlyn and Matthew will be married this winter at St. Peter Chanel, with their reception at Ivy Hall in Roswell. I am excited to capture every moment of their big day and to document the beginning of their forever together!!
